NAACAS

Inspired by the 2019 meeting of the European Association for Critical Animal Studies (EACAS) in Barcelona, Vasile Stanescu (Mercer University) and I founded a sister society, the North American Association for Critical Animal Studies (NAACAS). While EACAS meets in alternating (odd) years, NAACAS will meet in alternating (even) years.

Update: the first meeting of NAACAS was scheduled to take place in May 2020 in Kelowna, B.C., hosted by Critical Animal Studies scholar, feminist criminologist, and sociologist of food Kelly Struthers Montford (now at X University, Toronto). However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the conference has had to be postponed. Stay tuned for updates…
